Bringing gourmet coffee and tea, paired with incredible pastries to Pittsburgh’s North Hills. We are beginning this journey as grab-and-go destination due to construction costs and space limitations. However, we have our sights set on a later phase two expansion with indoor and outdoor seating.
About us
Koala’s owner, Nicki, is a native Pittsburgher who fell in love with an Aussie coffee-lover. After getting married, the two lived locally, grew a family, and moved to Australia. Over a decade ago they moved back to Ingomar. While Nicki’s husband enjoys his Pittsburgh life, he has not been able to find the "perfect flat white" coffee made popular in Australia. Nicki was inspired to open up the Koala Coffee and Tea House and serve the coffee and pastries her husband misses from his Melbourne hometown.

At Koala Coffee and Tea, we pride ourselves on providing fair-trade coffee and tea. We also work with local dairies and bakeries to source the freshest and tastiest treats.

Our menu of hot and iced drinks pair well with our wide variety of savory and sweet snacks. Our rotating menu of fresh breakfast bites and other fare will tempt you! And, if you are anything like Koala’s owner and have searched for special treats for family and friends with allergies, look no further. We will have ingredient lists on hand and on Wednesdays, we will offer gluten-free treats from our partner, Gluten Free Goat Bakery.
